Experience the fascination of traditional knifemaking and create your own unique knife in this two-day intensive course. Step by step, you'll follow the process from glowing steel to the finished, one-of-a-kind piece – no prior experience is necessary. At the beginning, you'll receive a clear introduction to construction methods and materials science, so you understand the technical fundamentals behind a good knife. Then you'll design your own personal knife and forge the blade blank yourself at the forge. You'll learn how to expertly forge and grind a blade and give it the desired shape. A special highlight is the design and construction of the handle: Using high-quality materials, you'll create a handle that fits perfectly in your hand and gives your knife its individual character. The course spans two intensive days in a small group with personalized instruction. Your comfort is taken care of – lunch and drinks are included on both days. In the end, you not only hold a fully functional, hand-forged knife in your hands, but you also take home a genuine craftsmanship experience and lasting memories.
